Restaurants: 5 deals, 1 concept change, foodie events & celebrations

Atypical food mashups in town increased recently. There’s already Eurasia, the Vietnamese and Italian spot in East Naples. Head uptown for sushi and Italian at the new-ish Giuseppe and the Lion, previously Noodles.

Now a popular lobster roll joint extends its menu with German cuisine. Is it MaineGer? GerMaine?

Elsewhere, there are deals around town including two restaurants where JLB happily spends her own money. We also give you a head start on exquisite Halloween treats that are made locally but garner a lot of press attention across the country so you may want to order early.

Deals too, five to be exact that include two of JLB's top five recommended restaurants.

Schnitzel with your lobster roll?

New signs hanging side by side at Lobster Roll No. 1 at Berkshire Commons now include “Mama Rita’s German Restaurant & Bakery.” The eatery added several hearty German dishes to its menu including spaetzle, potato pancakes, red cabbage, curried bratwurst and a few other items.

And yes, schnitzel too.
