Restaurants open Christmas Eve, Christmas Day in Naples, Marco Island, Bonita Springs

When Christmas Eve (always Dec. 24) falls on a Sunday, as it does this year, restaurants that are often closed that day won’t open for the holiday.

Same holds true for those usually closed on Mondays, coinciding with Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

Consider this handy list as your guide to who is open and when they are open. Many are open only Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Only the dates open are listed, so plan accordingly.

Smart advice: If your heart is set on a specific spot, reserve now. Also, because people get sick and flights get delayed, opportunities often arise from others' last-minute cancellations, making it possible to score a seat especially if a party size is an even number and you’re flexible with a time slot.

Hotel dining is always a smart bet too, because they have to feed their guests and want to keep them on the property.

Prices listed are per person; with one exception, beverages, tax and gratuity are not included. If there’s a kids menu, we note that too.

Naples

Café Normandie: Dec. 24 is by reservation only with a $95 four-course prix fixe from 5 p.m. until close. A Christmas market offers buche de Noel (yule log), beef Wellington and foie gras for pick-up Dec. 23 from 9 a.m. to noon. (3756 Tamiami Trail N.; 239-261-0977; cafenormandienaples.com)

Bonita Springs

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa: “Hot Chocolate and Horses” on Dec. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. near the resort’s pool with Track to Trail, a local organization dedicated to rehabilitating thoroughbreds. Guests can meet rehabilitated horses, take photos and enjoy myriad hot chocolate selections. Holiday buffet Dec. 25 from 1 to 7:30 p.m. at the resort’s Tanglewood restaurant with gourmet salads, smoked and cured meats, seafood, smoked trout and salmon, oysters cocktail shrimp and sushi. Carvings stations include ribeye, ham and turkey. Dessert is a bananas foster station; ice cream too. Prices are $120 for adults and $50 for kids between 5 to 12. Also on Dec. 25, the resort’s Tarpon Bay restaurant has a $70 prix-fixe menu from 5:30 to 10 p.m. For both, a gratuity of 20 percent and taxes is added. Reservations required.
