Restaurant Week returns to Harbor Springs, 14 participating venues
HARBOR SPRINGS — For more than a decade, Harbor Springs' local hot spots have offered up unique menus available for just 10 days in celebration of the annual "Restaurant Week," running this year from Feb. 23 to March 3.
Bonnie Kulp, the executive director of the Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, said the event allows restaurants to bring people in during typically slow months.
"We need to make sure people are in town and are supporting our local venues," Kulp said.
She said people mention being unable to get into their favorite restaurants during the busy summer months, and Restaurant Week is a good excuse to get people to visit their favorite places while they know they can get in.
Kulp said the event also allows restaurants to try their hands at new dishes or offer a spin on fan favorites.
"The fun with this is the restaurants put together menus that they would not traditionally serve," Kulp said. "This food may not be on the menu after the 10 days ... It's a really great way to try something new."
