A classy new coffee shop hosted its soft opening last week in New Smyrna Beach.

BREW, described as a coffee shop, brunch spot and wine bar, is the newest addition to Volusia County’s dining scene.

Located in New Smyrna Beach’s Venetian Bay Town Center, the new eatery has been teasing its anticipated opening on social media since May, announcing earlier last month that its opening date would be just around the corner.

The cozy new coffee spot showcased its simple yet elegant design, with a sleek, neutral, black and cream interior, boho-esque hints of greenery hung throughout, and matching wicker stools and light fixtures to tie its classic look together. With generous indoor and outdoor seating, the waterfront shop was nothing short of packed on its opening day, with eager customers filtering in by the minute.

Although the eatery served a limited menu during its soft opening, moving forward it will offer a full menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner selections, including an extensive beverage menu of premium coffee selections, teas, select local craft beers, and red and white wines served by the glass or by the bottle, as well as prosecco and $7 mimosas.

Whether looking for your next cup of matcha, cold brew or Americano, BREW’s thoughtfully curated menu is vast and varied with a range of espresso, iced and hot coffees, non-coffee options, plant-based energy drinks, and specialty drinks, including but not limited to the caramel macchiato, nitro cold brew coffee, cookies and cream frappe, white mocha, cortado and chai latte. And don’t forget to bring along your furry friends, because, yes, BREW will be making pup cups.

The local coffee shop also offers a range of teas, including Earl Grey and chamomile, as well as various lemonades, seasonal frappes and hot chocolate.

For an added 75 cents, add one the shop’s flavored syrup shots to any drink, with options ranging from vanilla, caramel and house-made pumpkin spice, to salted caramel, hazelnut and toasted marshmallow. For the traditional coffee drinkers, BREW offers steamed milk, half-and-half and heavy cream mix-ins, with alternative milk options also available, including oat, almond and coconut.

The eatery’s $5.50 iced chai was a perfectly sweet and spiced fall selection with cinnamon and ginger notes filtering through each sip, a match made in heaven when enjoyed alongside one of the coffee shop’s freshly baked pastries, ranging from cherry and apple turnovers to muffins and more.

Warm, fruity and flaky, the apple turnover was a pastry lover’s dream. The golden-brown, buttered selection delivered a rich medley of sugary and spiced notes with every sweet bite of soft apple goodness.

Available from 7 – 11 a.m., the eatery’s breakfast menu includes an array of “BREWritos,” such as the California Love, filled with eggs, sausage or bacon, cheddar cheese and ranch, and The Feisty Bombshell, stuffed with eggs, sausage or bacon, cheddar cheese, avocado, tots, house made chipotle sauce, sour cream and pico de gallo.

Other breakfast servings include the avocado toast for $10, the Banana Peanut Butter Bliss Belgian Waffles for $12 and the Garden Crustless Quiche for $9.

Brew’s lunch and dinner selections, offered after 11 a.m., include a tempting array of juicy handhelds, like the steak and Swiss sliders, chicken salad croissant and Mediterranean wrap, as well as several flatbreads, salads and tapas — small, shareable and often savory dishes, commonly enjoyed alongside a glass of wine — like the brie en croute, whipped feta dip and cheese, jam and hummus-filled Tapas Sampler Board.

Whether looking for a place to unwind and reconnect with those around you, recharge after a tiresome week or catch up on some last-minute work responsibilities, this modern coffee shop’s cozy charm and welcoming atmosphere is sure to make the right impression.

Brew is located at 424 Luna Bella Lane, Suite 123, in New Smyrna Beach and is open 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, 7 – 11 a.m. Tuesday, and 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. For information, call 386-402-4442 or visit brewnsb.com.
