One of Daytona Beach’s most frequented sea-to-table restaurants will soon be opening in a new location.

Macker Seafood, located on the beach town’s Mason Avenue for over a decade, announced on social media earlier this month that it was relocating to historic downtown Daytona.

Macker Seafood hopes to open the doors to its Bay Street location in the new year — a long-awaited fresh start for the restaurant — and plans to close the Mason Avenue spot by the end of the year, as noted in a Facebook post.

“For various reasons we feel it is time for a breath of fresh air, and the area by the Beach Street Riverfront Shops feels just right," the post stated.

Customers expressed their excitement and loyalty toward the popular restaurant on social media.

“I will drive 500 miles and I will drive 500 more just to eat your seafood,” one Facebook user playfully commented, as others chimed in with “perfect spot for you!!” and “You guys are a staple in our town. Wherever you go the people that love you will follow!”

The Daytona go-to for new and seasoned seafood lovers is frequented for its menu of exceptionally fresh offerings made possible through the eatery’s work with local fishermen, continually bringing in new seafood selections throughout the week to be specially prepared and served straight to customers' tables.

Macker Seafood offers both a fried and steamed menu, with a collection of perfectly pairing sides, including slaw, hushpuppies and fries.

For fried food lovers, the eatery’s menu includes jumbo shrimp, catfish, flounder and snapper, while the extensive menu of steamed selections ranges from the Blue Light Special — six blue crabs and 12 shrimp — the Cluster Shuck — one snow crab cluster, six oysters, six shrimp and one potato — and the Mason Ave. Pot — 1 pound of shrimp, one sausage, one corn, one potato and one egg — to the North Meets South — six blue crabs, one snow crab cluster and six shrimp — and the Feeling Shellfish — six oysters, six mussels, six shrimp and six scallops.

Whether dining in or placing an order for takeout, regulars will be more than pleased to know that the eatery will maintain all of its current seafood meals at its new Bay Street location, with the addition of several new items to be announced in the future.

“We will still have all of the meals our customers have come to know and love and will be adding some new exciting selections as well,” the restaurant noted on Facebook. “We will also still carry our raw fresh seafood and live blue crabs. Same great seafood, just in a new spot.”

Customers new and returning are encouraged to check the eatery’s Facebook page for any updates or changes.

“It’s been a great run on Mason Avenue,” the restaurant said on Facebook, “and we will continue to strive to bring you the best seafood dining experience possible at our new location. See you all soon!”

Macker Seafood’s new restaurant will be located at 141 Bay St. in Daytona Beach, the former location of Bay Street Seafood.
