Observed reach-in cooler with dairy products with temperature ranges of 49-50F.Observed multiple food items throughout the facility not stored in the original container and not containing a label (potatoes in walk-in, sauces in reach-in cooler, onions in reach-in, meats in walk-in cooler).

Inspector Notes: Observed no hot water in the facility at time of the inspection. CA: PIC turned the hot water heater on to restore hot water. Observed food (beef, beans, etc.) hot held below 135F. CA: Food was prepped within 2 hours and was reheated on the stove to 165F.

Inspector Notes: Observed all shredded lettuce throughout the facility to be severely wilted and brown. Facility receives lettuce in already discolored sometimes. Observed wet stacking of dishes in the dish storage area in the back prep area. Observed grease and old food debris along racks throughout the facility ( near prep line and in walk in cooler). Observed ceiling tiles in the dry storage area to be discolored and have mold-like patches.

Inspector Notes: Hand sink not accessible for use. Container of water sitting in hand-sink. Dish-washer not registering high temperature. Multiple test strips run. Current inspection report not posted. Today's inspection to be hung appropriately to where can be read from 3 feet away, on wall between 5 and 7 feet. Build-up of debris in reach-in cooler. -Build-up of debris on coffee makers.

Inspector Notes: Observed no date marking on multiple ready to eat sauces and dishes seen throughout inspection. Observed no common name on multiple prepped sauces and dishes throughout facility during inspection. Observed walk in freezer door not closing due to ice build up. Observed water stain/mildew like spots on ceiling in dry storage. Observed mildew like debris on fan in walk in cooler. Observed multiple flies in main kitchen. RCA: Keep main kitchen door closed to prevent flies in kitchen and possible contamination of food products.

Inspector Notes: Observed a full box of cabbage to be molded in the reach in cooler near the ice machine in the main kitchen. Observed multiple items ( white rice, corned beef, chili mac) to be in reach in cooler with no date marking on it. When inquired, PIC stated that some of the items were made on 10/16 or 10/5. Observed soup, tuna and mash potatoes being held past the date mark ending on 10/14. Observed multiple dishes and containers in teh clean dish storage area to be be stacked while still wet.

Inspector Notes: Observed main kitchen dish machine and bar dish machine not pulling sanitizer. Observed prep top cooler in front of grill station and in pizza area not in temperature.

Inspector Notes: Observed two employees not following proper handwashing procedures. Both employees shut off the water faucet before using a paper towel or napkin to turn it off. Observed multiple items stored uncovered in the grill reach-in cooler - chicken x2, hotdog, bacon, flour, and batter. At time of inspection, observed no permit or certified food safety manager documentation posted. Observed wet nesting on the clean dish rack.

Inspector Notes: Observed no paper towels available at hand-sink in kitchen. Inspector Notes: Observed hot-held eggs in steam warmer at 100 degrees F. PIC discarded eggs. Educated PIC on maintaining eggs at 135 degrees F or above for hot-holding. Observed box of oranges stored on floor. Observed single service utensils stored with eating portion facing outward.

Inspector Notes: Observed an employee wash jalapeños, and dishes in the hand sink. Observed multiple food items (raw chicken, raw beef, etc.) temperature above 41F. Observed multiple food items cooling by nonapproved method.
EL RANCHITO MEXICAN RESTAURANT, 7306 HIGHWAY 21, PORT WENTWORTH, 82
Inspector Notes: Observed heavy mildew-like build up on the baffle of the ice machine. Observed inaccurate thermometers in both Prep Top Coolers in the kitchen area, as well as the salsa cooler in the waitress area. Observed missing hanging thermometers in a Reach In Cooler in the bar area. Observed the most current inspection report not posted in public view. Observed the bottom of a bowl stored atop raw chicken in a Prep Top Cooler in the kitchen area. Observed multiple scoops stored inside of food product, with the handle touching food product, in bulk containers throughout the kitchen (cheese, bulk sugar). Observed single-use cardboard being used as shelf liner throughout the facility. Observed dish stickers stored on clean dishes on the clean dish rack. Inspector Notes: Observed a missing vent at the hood (educated last inspection). Hood vent must be replaced by October 20, 2023. Observed rat droppings in the back room where the Walk In Cooler is located.

Inspector Notes: Observed multiple packages of iceberg lettuce in reach in coolers and a case in walk in cooler to be mold-like and/or slimy to the touch. Observed heavy black build up on both soda dispensers machine nozzles in the main kitchen. Observed wiping cloths sanitizer solution of chlorine to be reading 0pppm. Observed facility to not have most current inspection report posted within the facility. Observed ventilation hood to be dripping grease along the inside side walls of the ventilation hood.
HIDALGOS RESTAURANT, 5548 OGEECHEE ROAD, STE C, SAVANNAH, 77
Inspector Notes: Observed a jacket in the handwashing along with employee items. CA: Jacket was removed with employee items. Observed multiple food (hot dog, chicken, cheese, etc.) temperature cold holding above 41F. Observed beef tongue hot holding at 90F. Observed sanitizing solution exceeding 200ppm. Observed no inspection report posted in the facility. Observed no chlorine test strips within the facility at time of inspection.
