Rescue Dog and 4-Year-Old Girl Adore Watching Disney Princess Movies Together (Exclusive)

Bosco the dog's owner, Zoe Ansary, tells PEOPLE that social media commenters "think he was a human in a past life"

Four-year-old Zalie loves watching Disney princess movies — and so does her canine companion, Bosco.

In a video posted to TikTok on Oct. 29, the pair appear equally engrossed in what they're viewing as they sit side by side on the couch.

"Every little girl needs a dog that will watch princess movies with them," wrote Zalie's mom, Zoe Ansary, alongside the clip.

Ansary tells PEOPLE that the Oregon-based family adopted Bosco in February after a neighbor posted on Facebook that the rescue dog needed a new home after the death of his previous owner.

"Within the hour, my daughter and him started watching TV together, and they just instantly bonded," she recalls. "And so I was like, 'Now we have to keep him.'"

"It was really cold and wintery, and we came inside, and my daughter put on an animal show, and he laid his head on her head, and they just were glued to the TV," she adds. "And I filmed it actually because I was like, 'I've never seen a dog watch TV before.'"

The duo's newest favorite is Frozen, and they're also fans of The Lion King, Tangled, and Homeward Bound. Ansary's older daughter, 7-year-old Izzy, is into Guardians of the Galaxy and recently enjoyed The Haunted Mansion.

"Anything that they watch, he watches with them," Ansary says, noting that Bosco often appears "more interested than us" in what's on the screen.

Ansary describes Bosco as "a little brother" to her daughters.

"We just have girls in the family, so adopting a boy dog has kind of been adopting a little brother," she explains.

"He has high energy," she says. "He's quirky but very, very loving. He always has to have his head on one of the girls or us while doing anything cuddly."

Since the video was posted, it has garnered more than 43,000 views.
