Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin's uncle, Dorrian Glenn, told NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe his nephew is on a ventilator, but "he's improved to 50% oxygen needed after being at 100 percent." He's still sedated, according to the report, but the main focus is recovering to breathe on his own and healing his lungs.

Hamlin remained in critical condition Tuesday after suffering a cardiac arrest when he collapsed in the first quarter of Monday night's game against the Bengals.

A national TV audience saw medics performing CPR on the field and an automatic external defibrillator (AED) was used. Hamlin's heartbeat was restored on the field and he was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, a level-1 trauma hospital, according to a statement from his team.

Jordan Rooney, Hamlin's marketing representative, tweeted late Monday night that Hamlin's vital signs were back to normal and he had been placed on a breathing tube, but official news about Hamlin has been sparse. The UC Medical Center did not give updates on his condition Monday or Tuesday and it was hours before the team said early Tuesday morning it was a cardiac arrest. Hamlin's family offered a brief update, asking for prayers and thanking people for their support.

Coley Harvey, a national reporter for SportsCenter and other ESPN platforms, also tweeted an update from Glenn.

In that update, Glenn said his nephew had to be resuscitated twice, Harvey reported, once on the field at Paycor Stadium and once after he arrived at the hospital. There is a concern of lung damage, Glenn said.

Harvey said Glenn also was very complimentary of doctors at University of Cincinnati Medical Center and the outpouring of support his family has received from the city of Cincinnati.
