Report: Talent Pushed For Shelton Benjamin To Join AEW Before WWE Release

According to a new report, some talent hoped to see Shelton Benjamin join AEW, even before WWE released him on September 21.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Shelton Benjamin had supporters in AEW long before his WWE release.

Sapp wrote that he heard that numerous talent have hoped that Benjamin will join AEW in some capacity. The report noted that some talent pushed for Benjamin to join months ago when incorrect rumors suggested that his contract was coming up soon.

Sapp also wrote that, separate of Benjamin, AEW is looking to add more producers so eventually they can have each producer work one match per show.
