Report: Steelers OC Todd Haley has shattered pelvis from NYE bar incident

Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley suffered a shattered pelvis and badly bruised left side during a New Year’s Eve altercation after drinks with his wife at Pittsburgh’s Tequila Cowboy bar, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Haley spoke publicly for the first time about the incident on Thursday but did not detail the extent of his injuries.

“A few nights ago unfortunately I was in a situation” Haley told members of the media. “The situation, though not of my doing, has been made clear to me by the Steelers that it is a non-issue to both the team and the Steelers organization. My sole focus is on preparing for next week’s playoff game, so it won’t be addressed further.”

The incident took place shortly after midnight on New Year’s Eve, according to a Pittsburgh police report.

“Detail officers were summoned to Tequila Cowboy restaurant for a minor scuffle involving Haley’s wife shortly after midnight, January 1, [2018],” the report reads. “The scuffle was quickly ended. Todd Haley was not involved nor injured. Todd and Christine Haley were escorted out. No injuries. No charges.”

While the claim of Haley’s involvement and lack of injuries appears to be inaccurate, no charges have been reported, and Haley was back at work Wednesday with a limp, according to the Post-Gazette.

The Steelers have a bye week before hosting a divisional-round matchup next week in the AFC playoffs.
