Report: Sixers are likely to trade No. 28 pick in 2021 NBA draft

The Philadelphia 76ers are set to enter the 2021 NBA draft with two picks, Nos. 28 and 50, but there is a chance that they could move at least one of those picks.

The Sixers are a team that is contending for a championship and it is unlikely that either of these upcoming picks will help them on their quest for a title. The 28th and 50th picks are players that will likely need a year or two for development before they make an impact.

Therefore, it would probably be in the best interest of president Daryl Morey if he moves that pick to bring in a veteran who can help off the bench. Per Tom Moore of The Bucks County Courier Times, that might be something that is on Morey’s mind as the draft approaches on Thursday.

The Sixers could offer up the pick for a team like the Orlando Magic, for example. They are a team that is beginning a rebuild and the Sixers could maybe pry away somebody like Terrence Ross from them in order to bolster the bench. There are a few options Morey can do with this pick to help Philadelphia move forward.
