The 40-yard dash and passing drills get the TV attention, but perhaps the most important part of the NFL scouting combine each year is the extensive medical testing each prospect goes through.

Probable first-round pick Montez Sweat of Mississippi State was flagged during the combine for having a pre-existing heart condition, but it seems like it’s a best-case scenario.

Report: Sweat won’t need re-check

NFL.com’s Gil Brandt tweeted on Tuesday that Sweat won’t be called back to Indianapolis for a medical re-check; Brandt also wrote that decision-makers from several teams that he’d spoken with all said that they would pass Sweat on a physical.

Medical staff at the combine typically respond conservatively if a player is found to have a potential health issue, but Sweat was still allowed to take part in drills. The 6-foot-6 edge rusher impressed with a 4.41-second dash and broad jump of 10 feet, 5 inches.
