Mercedes Moné remains out of action due to an injury, and a new report provides an update.
Moné suffered a broken ankle at NJPW Resurgence on May 21, and she has been sidelined ever since. She appeared in the crowd at AEW All In, but her future has been unclear.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that there are currently no plans for Moné to return to NJPW or STARDOM in the near future. He wrote that she does not have any dates scheduled. Metzer stated that there were plans for a singles match with NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Giulia. However, the company evidently scrapped this direction, at least for the time being.
At NJPW Resurgence, Moné faced Willow Nightingale in the finals of the tournament for the JPW STRONG Women’s Championship. Moné was reportedly set to win, but the plans changed on the spot due to her injury during the match.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
