Report: Mitch Marner's deal with Leafs 'could get done quickly'
Can this just end soon, please?
TSN Insider Darren Dreger, who has been moonlighting as Mitch Marner’s agent for the better part of four months now, is claiming that a deal between Toronto and Marner’s camp could get done as soon as this week.
Or, like, it might not?
As has been the case throughout this process, the Leafs and Marner’s agent, Darren Ferris continue to talk. Negotiation is now at a pivotal point. A deal could get done quickly (this week). However, if progress stalls it could drag into October.

The general sentiment has been that the Leafs are holding strong and wagering that Marner and his camp will essentially cave before opening night of the NHL season. This development reinforces that theory, at least a little bit.
Honestly the math adds up. Contract could get done this week, or, maybe it doesn’t. There’s a lot going on here.
