There has been a noteworthy change backstage in WWE, as Michael Cole is pulling back from some of his duties.

Veteran broadcaster Michael Cole has been managing the announcers in the company for a long time. In 2020, he was promoted to Vice President of Announcing. He currently calls the action on WWE RAW and at WWE pay-per-views.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Cole has “pulled back” from his responsibilities regarding managing announcers. Johnson notes that he made the decision so he could concentrate on his work as a talent. Additionally, per Johnson, WWE had no issue with the decision.

Alongside this shift, Johnson writes that the “word making the rounds” is that Sue Cundaro, who has worked with Cole in managing the announcers, has taken over his responsibilities.

Vic Joseph Praises Michael Cole

NXT commentator Vic Joseph recently spoke highly of Cole. Speaking with Scott Fishman for TV Insider, he called the veteran the greatest of all time.

“Michael Cole is the greatest of all time. I’ll say it again. He is the greatest of all time. I’ve learned so much from him.”
