Report: Details On Giulia Joining WWE NXT, Injury Update
A new report provides an update on Giulia and her looming arrival in WWE NXT.
As previously reported, Giulia has agreed to join WWE NXT after finishing up her current dates.. She suffered a fractured wrist at Marigold’s debut show on May 20. This has led to some uncertainty about her move to WWE.
Corey Brennan of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that, per WWE sources, the company is comfortable with her staying in Japan while she heals. Per Brennan, the timetable for Giulia’s return is unclear, as it depends on how her fractured wrist heals.
Brennan previously reported that Giulia was slated to make her in-ring debut at NXT Heatwave. The update notes that the match is still not locked in. However, sources state that she is still set to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship upon her arrival. Brennan also cites sources who note that Perez’s current storyline will “play a key role” in Giulia’s debut.
Additionally, Brennan cites sources who expect that Giulia will look to make good on her dates with Marigold after her injury. Per Brennan, sources from both WWE and Marigold noted that she will not be exclusive to WWE, as she will continue to work with Marigold for a while.
Furthermore, NXT sources expect Giulia to be presented as the female face of NXT. One source even indicating that they expected her to surpass Asuka’s NXT run.
