NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman is once again connected to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. The New York Post reported Tuesday that Rodman will be traveling to Singapore to attend the summit between Kim and President Donald Trump.
“No matter you might think about his presence, one thing’s for sure — the ratings will be huge,” a source told the Post. “A lot of times in situations that involve complex diplomacy countries like to identify ambassadors of goodwill and whether you agree with it or not Dennis Rodman fits the bill.”
The meeting is scheduled for the night of June 11, and it will likely feature conversations about the Trump-proposed nuclear deal. According to the Post, Rodman could play “some sort of role” in the negotiations.

Rodman’s relationship with Kim dates back to 2013, when Rodman first traveled to North Korea for the filming of the Vice documentary film “Basketball Diplomacy.” The two have met many-a-time since, including a trip in June of 2017.
Darren Prince — Rodman’s representative — would not confirm the trip to the Post. He did say “the Worm” would be willing to go if necessary.
“He’s talked about it, but no final trip or plans have been made,” Prince told the Post.
