Report: Brad Pitt Feels 'Tremendous Loss' Over Troubled Relationship With Son Maddox Jolie-Pitt

It has been a rocky road. Brad Pitt’s relationship with son Maddox Jolie-Pitt has been reported to be strained for years. And recently, Maddox left for South Korea to begin his first year of college at Yonsei University. His mom, Pitt’s ex Angelina Jolie, was there to see him off at the milestone moment — but dad was nowhere to be found.

That’s when In Touch Weekly captured some telling video: Maddox told a reporter that he didn’t really “know about that [or] what’s happening” as far as his dad’s plan to visit him there. When the reporter pressed as to whether Maddox has any relationship remaining with his father, he replied with a cryptic statement: “Well, whatever happens, happens.”

Reports emerged of an alleged fight between Pitt and Maddox on a private plane back in 2016, which reportedly sparked Jolie’s divorce filing. Now, as per a new source, the difficult state of the relationship between himself and Maddox pains Pitt deeply. According to Us Weekly, a source reports that “Maddox hasn’t been receptive,” to repairing the relationship. “And for Brad, it’s a tremendous loss.”

The source added, “With Maddox overseas, Brad is also hopeful that Pax will also be interested in reconnecting without the influence of his older brother.”

In addition to 18-year-old Maddox, who is the oldest, Pitt and Jolie’s children also include Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and Vivienne and Knox, 11-year-old twins.

Pitt recently opened up about getting sober, acknowledging to the New York Times that he turned to Alcoholics Anonymous for help after drinking consumed him in the fallout surrounding his divorce.
