Report: Athena Suffered Injury At ROH TV Tapings On 5/16

ROH Women’s World Champion Athena reportedly injured her leg at the latest set of ROH television tapings.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Athena injured her leg during her match against Viba Van at the tapings on Thursday. Fans in attendance noted that Athena took a bump through the ropes and landed on the floor, and she was limping afterwards. The champion then scored the win, but it seemed like Athena indicated that she was hurt to the referee.

Fans in attendance noted that Athena stayed in character, but she did not put any weight on her injured leg. She was assisted by the referee and another official as she made her way to the back.

Johnson writes that Athena was checked out after the bout. However, the nature of the issue has not been confirmed. As of this writing, there is no word on whether she is expected to miss any time.
