The Rep giving Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary students spotlight in theatre

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Rep is giving third graders from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership and Language Academy their time in the spotlight.

Director of community, learning, and public programs Tamra Patterson Calamese, director Kevin Delaney and third-grader Kali Leavell joined FOX 16 Good Day to talk about the Downtown Playmakers Project.

Argenta Community Theater renamed, showcasing its 15 years in the arts

The Downtown Playmakers Project is a playwriting and mentoring program that gives elementary students at MLK Elementary the chance to create original theatre. The project is similar to the 52nd street project in New York City.

Performances are scheduled for April 19 at 7 p.m. and April 20 at 2 p.m.
