ASHWAUBENON - REO Speedwagon, the Champaign, Illinois, rock band that has played arena shows in Green Bay every decade since the 1970s, is coming back to do it again.

The band will help the Resch Center celebrate its 20th anniversary with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5. The Mavericks will open.

It's the first time back at the Resch in five years for the group whose classic rock hits include "Take It On the Run," "Ridin' the Storm Out," "Keep on Loving You," "Roll With the Changes" and "Time for Me to Fly." REO last stopped at the Ashwaubenon arena in 2018 for a show with 38 Special and Warrant.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketstaronline.com, 800-895-0071 and the Ticket Star box office at the Resch Center. Prices are $49, $69, $99 and $125 (VIP).

REO played frequently at Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena, including multiple times in each the 1970s, '80s and '90s. When the Resch Center opened in late 2002, REO played its first concert there in 2003 with Journey and Styx.

The old arena was demolished in 2019 to make way for the Resch Expo, located next to the Resch Center.

Lead singer Kevin Cronin has been at the helm of the band since 1972, with Bruce Hall (bass), Dave Amato (guitar), Bryan Hitt (drums) and Derek Hilland (touring keyboardist) comprising the current lineup. Keyboardist Neal Doughty, a founding member of the band in 1967 and its last original member, announced his retirement from touring with REO in January.
