Remi Yamamoto Named VP Media Relations For Disney Entertainment Television

Remi Yamamoto, who most recently served as special assistant to President Biden and senior advisor for the White House chief of staff, has joined Disney Entertainment Television as vice president, Media Relations. She will report directly to Naomi Bulochnikov-Paul, EVP Publicity, and Head of Communications for Disney Entertainment Television.

In her new role, Yamamoto will be responsible for developing cross-brand messaging and communications strategies that promote Disney Entertainment Television programming executives across ABC Entertainment, ABC News, ABC Owned Television Stations, Disney Branded Television, Disney Television Studios, Freeform, FX, Hulu Originals, National Geographic and Onyx Collective, working closely with brand publicity leads across the businesses. Yamamoto will also oversee the teams that provide strategic counsel on crisis communications and issues-oriented messaging, as well as the executive communications and editorial teams for DET.

Most recently, Yamamoto served as the special assistant to President Biden and senior advisor for the office of the chief of staff at the White House. In that capacity, she oversaw a portfolio managing strategic communications, press strategy, external stakeholder engagement, and political strategy for the president’s most senior aides and served as a senior White House spokesperson.

Prior to her stint at the White House, Yamamoto was President Biden’s traveling national press secretary during the campaign. She managed a large traveling press corps, prepared the president for hundreds of media interviews and press conferences, and served as the on-the-record traveling spokesperson. A veteran of numerous campaigns, Yamamoto also advised clients on strategic communications at a top-tier consulting firm.
