Reggie Miller's son frustrates him by emulating Stephen Curry's shooting style

One of the biggest complaints about youth basketball is that so many players try to replicate Steph Curry's shooting from very long distance.

Reggie Miller knows the feeling. The Indiana Pacers legend has to remind his son, 8-year-old Ryker, that he's not the Golden State Warriors star.

"Here's the problem I have in my household," Miller said Thursday on the "Dan Patrick Show." My son's favorite player is Stephen Curry, and everything around here is 'Warriors.' I'm yelling at him in the backyard to stop shooting 30-footers, and do layups. 'You're not Stephen Curry.'"

Miller, who is picking the Boston Celtics to beat Golden State in the NBA Finals, acknowledges Curry is better than him.

"I would tell him Steph Curry. We're told never to lie to our children, right?" Miller said.

Ryker wouldn't need his dad's word on that. Reggie got Ryker on the call, and the boy said Curry is better that Miller.

And what are the chances Ryker's working on layups? Curry has 3,117 career regular-season 3-pointers, the most in NBA history, with more to come. (Only 16.5% of his shots are within 3-feet of the basket, according to basketball-reference.com.) Miller, who finished his career with the most 3s, currently stands fourth all-time with 2,560.
