Reformation and Veja have released the Venturi sneaker ($215), a sporty new shoe collaboration that fuses both brands’ DNA of responsibility and sustainability in design alongside Ref’s signature vintage-inspired aesthetic. Featuring an athletic-inspired round-toe silhouette, the kicks boast an upper made of suede and J-mesh (a material consisting of 67 percent cotton and 33 percent jute), a midsole made from 38 percent sugar cane, L-Foam cushioning made of 30 percent natural latex and a chunky outdoors-ready outsole made of 31 percent renewable Amazonian rubber. The pair comes with recycled polyester shoelaces, plus an extra set made of 100 percent organic cotton.
The Reformation x Veja Venturi sneakers come in ivory and brown colorways, and in sizes 36-41.
The kicks mark the first time that the starry labels have collabed. LA-based Reformation has been spotted on a lengthy list of celebrities — including Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Mandy Moore, Kaia Gerber, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Bieber and more — while Paris-born Veja’s eco-minded shoes have been worn by Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton, Eddie Redmayne and many, many others.
For those in need of a primer of the stylish collaborators’ sustainability efforts, Reformation has been carbon-neutral since 2015 and earned its official certification via the nonprofit, Climate Neutral, in 2021, and it also partners with the Fair Labor Association to monitor its LA factory. Founded in 2004, Veja produces its shoes in a factory in South Brazil that follows the International Labour Organization’s standards. The sustainability ratings directory Good On You — whose efforts are supported by Emma Watson — rates both brands a 4 out of 5 (an overall good score) for their usage of low-impact materials, efforts to prevent deforestation and supply chain tracing, to name a few factors.
