Don’t you love it when onscreen rivals are BFFs in real life? Well, maybe calling Morning Show leads Bradley Jackson and Alex Levy rivals is a bit of an exaggeration — but calling Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston BFFs sure isn’t. Witherspoon posted a sweet photo gushing over pal Aniston, and we’re seriously smitten with this friendship.

Witherspoon posted the photo to Instagram in honor of the Morning Show season finale. “This was our very last day of shooting @themorning show,” the Hello Sunshine founder wrote. “There are not enough hugs, heart emojis or words to express how much I cherish working with @jenniferaniston.”

“She is one of the hardest working people I know,” Witherspoon continued. “To all the writers, producers, camera operators, assistants, actors, set & costume designers… THANK YOU! I am honored to work among women & men who feel equally passionate about story-telling and collaborated on all levels to bring this show to life. To any survivors who related to the show on a deeper level – we see you and we stand with you. Thank you all for watching and supporting!”

As Witherspoon’s caption hints at, The Morning Show deals with incidents of sexual harassment and assault, diving deep into scenarios that mirror many of the real-life stories brought to light by the #MeToo movement. “It’s impossible to talk about morning news and not talk about #MeToo,” Morning Show writer Kerry Ehrin said in October. “It would be negligent.”

“It’s about this moment when a whole construct explodes,” Witherspoon added at the time. “It starts to dismantle slowly over the 10 episodes and then it culminates in a gigantic seismic shift in the corporate culture of this one network — which is extraordinary and reflects what’s happening in the real world.”

If you’ve been following along with The Morning Show, you’ll know the finale delivered on Witherspoon’s promise. To be honest, we’re still a little shaken by it — but there’s no one we’d rather see explore these tough concepts than Witherspoon and Aniston.

Thankfully, The Morning Show was already renewed for a second season, so we’ll have more BFF antics from these two in the years to come. To quote Witherspoon, there are “not enough hugs, heart emojis or words” to express how much we love this friendship.
