Reese Witherspoon Goes 'Legally Blonde' to Support Sick Child

Evoking her famed role in the 2001 hit comedy Legally Blonde, Reese Witherspoon went pink again this week. She posed as the ultra-girly and ultra-savvy Elle Woods on Instagram on Wednesday to lift the spirits of a very ill young fan, holding a sign that said, “Get Better Soon!”

The message was for a four-year-old named Will who is battling cancer.

The 38-year-old actress, who stars in the upcoming drama, Wild, posted a note with her get-well pic that read:”This is for one of the strongest little four-year-olds I can imagine. Will - I hear that you’re fighting so hard and strong against cancer and that in the hospital you’ve been watching a lot of Legally Blonde and loving it. I hope it makes you laugh!” Witherspoon also imparted a “big big hug and my hope and prayers. Just know - I’m a really big fan of YOURS!”

If that’s not heartwarming enough, Witherspoon also relayed a video message to her young fan and urged everyone to post similar messages on social media with the hashtag #TeamWill.

Witherspoon is no stranger to good deeds. She did the ALS ice bucket challenge just last weekend, dedicating it to her friend Nanci, “who was diagnosed with ALS this week.” Witherspoon added, “We are gonna beat this thing” — right before getting soaked. She is also set to participate in the Stand Up to Cancer telecast on Sept. 5.

Even though Legally Blonde is nearly 15 years old, it remains a Witherspoon fan favorite and has spawn a sequel, a musical and even a Barbie doll.
