Reese Witherspoon & Daughter Ava Phillippe Made a Fashionable Mother-Daughter Statement in Paris

Paris Fashion Week isn’t disappointing fans one bit, mixing glamour and Hollywood into one chic event. Fendi’s Haute Couture show on Thursday brought one of the entertainment industry’s favorite mother-daughter duos out to the City of Lights to see fashion’s next big trends.

Reese Witherspoon and Ava Phillippe, 24, grabbed front row seats to the must-see event, and the family lookalikes made quite a splash with their complementary outfits. The Oscar winner wore a sleek black dress with a high collar and short skirt. She paired it with oversized sunglasses, black-and-gold heels, and pop of color in her red handbag.

Phillippe rocked a yellow turtleneck with gray skirt and matching trench coat. Her white heels gave the ensemble an unexpected element as she accessorized with a blue handbag (just like mom) and oval sunglasses. It was the perfect mother-daughter follow-up outing after they were recently spotted at the Critics Choice Awards. 

The 47-year-old actress has a rock-solid relationship with her adult kids from her former marriage to Ryan Phillippe (they also share son, Deacon, 20). Witherspoon noted to the Today Show in 2022 how her parenting has changed now that her two oldest children are over the age of 18 (son Tennessee from her second marriage to Jim Toth is 11). She described the shift as going from “physical management” to “emotional support and suggestions – not telling them what to do when they get a little bit older.” She added, “You have to really nurture your adult relationship with your children too and give them respect and space to become who they are, and not who you want them to be.”

For Witherspoon, reaching this stage of life with her two oldest kids has been a big milestone for her. Ava is making a name for herself in her modeling and internet influencer career while Deacon is attending New York University and hoping follow in his parents’ acting footsteps. “It means you did your job right,” she told People. “And I’m so proud of my kids. They’re thriving in the world and I’m so happy for them.”
