Reese Witherspoon Color-Coordinates With Daughter Ava Phillippe at the 2024 Critics Choice Carpet

At the 2024 Golden Globe Awards just last week, Reese Witherspoon was all smiles as she walked the carpet with her 20-year-old son Deacon Phillippe. At tonight’s 2024 Critics Choice Awards, however, The Morning Show star chose another special family member as her plus one: her 24-year-old daughter Ava Phillippe.

On the carpet, Witherspoon and Ava, who she shares with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, even matched in complementary black looks. While Witherspoon looked like a true movie star in a strapless black gown with a high slit and a massive bow around the waist, Ava looked as sweet as ever in a black mini-dress with silver studs paired with black tights and matching pointed heels.

And, of course, in addition to their matching looks, the two showed off just how similar the two are on the carpet as they smiled for the cameras. Talk about a double take!

And while Ava and Witherspoon didn’t dish on their family date night on the carpet, Deacon opened up about his mother’s advice for last week’s star-studded event at the Golden Globes. “OK, there’s two main things: gum, hand sanitizer, and be nice to everyone. That’s it,” Deacon said, as his proud mom looked on.

Most of all, it seems like Deacon was trying his best to be supportive throughout it all. “She’s the party animal,” he said, adding that he’s “just going to try to keep up.”

Knowing that Ava probably also heard those words of wisdom, and perhaps even got some advice from her brother, it’ll surely be a fun mother-daughter night tonight for the two of them!
