Update, 4/8/21: Nearly a month after Ree Drummond's husband Ladd and nephew Caleb were involved in a truck collision, the family has shared they're both doing much better now. Ree's The Pioneer Woman's magazine announced on Instagram: "Ladd and Caleb are healing up after their accident on the ranch. ❤️ (And the Drummond family is so grateful for all of your kind words!)"

Two of Ree's kids, Alex and Todd, also spoke about Ladd and Caleb's recovery in an Instagram Live session on the outlet's account. "A lot of people are asking how our dad is," Alex said: "He's doing a lot better. He's recovering and he's even starting to get back into ranch work."

Alex confirmed that Ladd's mobility is limited, but "he's still able to hang." As for Caleb, "he's pretty much all healed up and back to his normal life," Todd said. You can watch the full video below.

Update, 3/18/21: A few days after giving the world a more comprehensive update on her husband and nephew's terrifying accident, Ree Drummond took to Instagram to provide even more information. This time, rather than focusing on the event itself, she told her followers she was officially in “'I love you, man!!!' mode" now that she "[sees] so clearly how much worse things could have been." You can read her post in full below.

Ladd and Caleb have been home from the hospital recovering since earlier this week. In her last update, Ree confirmed that while the accident was horrific and very serious, both men are expected to fully recover.

Update, 3/15/21: Earlier today, Ree published a long update on her husband and nephew's conditions over on her site. She clarified that while both mens' injuries were quite serious, Ladd and Caleb are going to be OK. She wrote part:

Caleb broke some ribs, had a pretty bad concussion, and a few other injuries that will heal. Ladd...broke his neck in two places—and evidently one of the two fractures was very close to being catastrophic. Have I mentioned cowboys don’t like to admit when they’re hurt? Ladd was transferred to Tulsa and had surgery to stabilize one of the fractures. Thanks to some rods and other hardware (and an amazing neurosurgeon named Dr. Kalani), it’s fixed now and that danger is over.

She went on to say that Ladd will have to wear a neck brace for their daughter's upcoming wedding, but that "the girls and I will bling out the brace for Alex’s wedding…but we are just grateful he will be here for Alex’s wedding."

Original post, 3/12/21: Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond's husband and nephew are in the hospital following a truck collision that happened earlier this week in Oklahoma. Both her husband Ladd and nephew Caleb were driving Himmat Fire Trucks to respond to fires in the area before colliding, according to accident reports. She said they are both expected to be okay.

According to reports obtained by PEOPLE, the accident took place on Wednesday afternoon and was caused by visibility issues from high winds on a gravel road they were driving on. The trucks hit one another head-on and neither of the drivers were wearing a seatbelt. Caleb Drummond was ejected approximately 70 feet from the point of rest, the report stated, and was admitted to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK, in critical condition with head, arm, leg, and internal injuries.

Yesterday morning, Ree, posted on her Facebook page giving fans and followers a brief update on Ladd and Caleb's condition, confirming that both of them will likely be fine.

"I want to thank you all for your prayers for our family. Caleb and Ladd are in the hospital, but we think they will both be okay," she wrote. "As a family we are giving thanks today, knowing things could have been much worse. Thank you all for your love and kindness. It means a lot."

Ladd and Caleb were apparently responding to fires in the northeast Oklahoma area and it has been reported that the flames were making their way onto the property of the Drummond family farm.
