Red Utley (‘Big Brother 25’) exit interview: ‘I kinda had an idea that there was some funny business going on’

Red Utley became the fifth houseguest to exit the “Big Brother” when he was evicted by a vote of 8-2 Thursday night. The 37-year old salesman from Gatlinburg, Tennessee was ousted on Day 37 over Jag Bains. Head of Household Jared Fields zeroed in on him after Cameron Hardin won the veto and removed himself from the block on Wednesday.

“I feel like Felicia had a lot to do with it,” Red told host Julie Chen Moonves during his exit interview. “In this house you never really can trust anything anybody’s telling you. There’s been all kinds of things going through my mind. I kinda had an idea that there was some funny business going on. It is what it is. This experience has been great either way.”

When asked who he feels most betrayed by, Red answered, “Obviously Cam. To start, I don’t even think I’d be sitting on the block if it weren’t for him. He was supposed to be my best friend in the house.” When asked why he didn’t talk to Cam, but instead took Jared’s word for things Cam supposedly said, Red replied, “A lot of the things that he said seemed like his mannerisms. There was a lot of other things coming from other people in the house that would lead me in that direction. I’m one of those people, either I’m hot or I’m cold. I was almost too irritated at that point and I didn’t want to act emotionally. So I just kinda let it be.”

Julie hinted that Cam wasn’t as conniving as Red may have thought and even voted for him to stay, but the message seemed to go over Red’s head as he just replied, “Well.”

In closing, Red said, “What an awesome experience. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to even have been here. All good things. It’s part of the game. You gotta take it all with a grain of salt and at the end of the day it has been absolutely amazing.”
