Recording Academy Misspells Kacey Musgraves' Name During Grammys Telecast — and Fans Are Outraged

Kacey Musgraves‘ big Grammys night started with a minor mistake by the Recording Academy.

Fans expressed outrage and disappointment on Twitter after the country star’s first name was misspelled at the top of the telecast when she was introduced as one of the night’s performers.

The Recording Academy spelled “Kasey Musgraves” instead of Kacey Musgraves.

Many pointed out the Recording Academy’s misspelling, with some tweeting in all caps to express their frustrations.

However, when she won best country album for Golden Hour, Musgraves’ name was spelled correctly.

Sunday was a monumental night for Musgraves’ career as she also took home country song for “Space Cowboy” and country solo performance for “Butterflies.”

“What the heck! This is crazy!” she told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet of her two wins.

The star was also onstage to perform her single “Rainbow” in the telecast’s first hour along with partaking in the all-star tribute for Dolly Parton. Musgraves joined Katy Perry to sing “Here You Come Again.”

Musgraves’ fourth and final nomination of the night is for album of the year.

The 61st Annual Grammy Awards are broadcasting live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT on CBS.
