Record Store Day 2020 Full List: Tyler, the Creator, Mac DeMarco, My Chemical Romance, More
Record Store Day 2020 is coming up on April 18. Today, the full list of releases has been announced. Highlights include first-time vinyl pressings of Tyler, the Creator’s Cherry Bomb (as well as its instrumental version), Chief Keef’s Back From the Dead 2, Robyn’s 2005 self-titled album, and the Weeknd’s My Dear Melancholy,.
Additional notable releases on this year’s list include My Chemical Romance’s Life on the Murder Scene live album, a new live EP from Brittany Howard, a 5xLP Philip Glass box set titled The Essential, a 9xLP box set of the Notorious B.I.G.’s music, a deluxe edition of Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s The Return to the 36 Chambers, and a new pressing of Charli XCX’s Vroom Vroom EP (which is coming to the vinyl for the first time ever). Elsewhere, the list also includes a 7" from Denzel Curry with his Rage Against the Machine cover, a live album from Kevin Morby, and a Miles Davis compilation of recordings that were made during the lead-up to Bitches Brew.
Other highlights on the RSD list include: a 50th anniversary repressing of Paul McCartney’s solo album McCartney, the first vinyl reissue of Sun Ra’s Egypt '71 live album, and multiple movie soundtracks, including Hackers, The Virgin Suicides, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, 1995’s Mortal Kombat, Synecdoche, New York, Lethal Weapon, and 1997’s Batman & Robin.
There are oddities, too, such as Wilcovered, an LP’s worth of Wilco covers curated by Jeff Tweedy himself, which includes Wilco covers by Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile, Sharon Van Etten, Low, Cate Le Bon and Parquet Courts, among others. It also features a previously released version of “Jesus, Etc.” by Norah Jones’ band Puss N Boots and a previously unreleased version of “Casino Queen” by Billy Gibbons, with Tweedy on guitar.
