Rebelde hits the Sun Bowl, New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum among things to do

It's another big concert for the Sun Bowl with Mexican pop group Rebelde. It's been quite a few years since the group performed at the El Paso County Coliseum and should make for an exciting night for fans.

The circus is in town this weekend in Central El Paso. Families can see talented artists from different parts of the world in this three-ring spectacle at the El Paso County Coliseum.

A Bully Empire dog show comes to the El Paso convention center on Saturday. And families can also take their children to the Water Festival for some fun and learning about water conservation.

Here is a closer look at the weekend and into next week.

Rebelde

Mexican pop group Rebelde, also known as RBD, is getting together for an exciting tour. The group will perform Friday, Aug. 25 at the Sun Bowl Stadium. Tickets, ranging from $143 to $750, plus fees, are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Elegant Alchemy relaxing evening

The Elegant Alchemy will have a night to Awaken the Muse Within through Luxury and Relaxation from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25 at the Sunset Parlor, 1307 Sunset. The evening will include a rejuvenating Kundalini Awakening movement session by Leilainia Marcus, a breathwork session, and sound bath as well as crystal bowl serenades and a dance party. Tickets are $88 at the door.

Carden International Circus

The international three-ring circus featuring talent from around the globe returns with five performances Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26-27 at the El Paso County Coliseum. Showtimes are 11 a.m., 3 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and noon and 5 p.m. Sunday. Seating is $10 for children and $25 for adults with a limited number of $30 Reserved and $35 VIP Floor seats available. Tickets are on sale now at www.spectacularcircus.com or one hour before show time at the Coliseum Box Office.

Bully Empire at El Paso convention center

The Bully Empire, a dog show focusing on the support, education and promotion of Bully Breeds comes to the El Paso convention center Saturday, Aug. 26. Doors open at 10 a.m.; show starts at noon. Tickets will be $30 at the door.

Alfresco! Fridays continue Downtown

Alfresco! Fridays will feature Lizzy Torres and Ballet Folklorico Quetzales Friday, Aug. 25, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the El Paso convention center plaza. The free summer concert is scheduled every Friday through Aug. 25. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Guests may not bring outside food, drinks or pets but are encouraged to bring foldable lawn chairs.

Water Festival 2023

Tech H20 will have its Water Festival 2023 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 at 10751 Montana Ave. There will be activities for families, including a rain harvesting workshop and music and dance performances. Find out about joining Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest at the event. Information: 915-621-2000.

New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum

The New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Road in Las Cruces, will have free admission on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., as part of Community Appreciation Day.

The day will include the Parade of Breeds cattle program, pony rides for children, a plant sale, a craft activity and food trucks.

Guests can tour all of the museum’s exhibits. Visitors can also check out the museum’s livestock, including six different breeds of cattle, horses, sheep, and a donkey.

Music at the Park

The Music at the Park series continues from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at Grandview Park, 3100 Jefferson Ave. All the free outdoor music events will include live bands and performances, interactive activities, vendors, informational booths, giveaways and food trucks.
