Skater Andy Buchanan went to seek help at hospital after a blade from her skates sliced his face, although she didn't believe he was really hurt at first.
“I actually thought he was messing around to begin with, because he does like a bit of a joke and he likes to rib me quite a bit, and we were doing a move and the last thing he said to me was ‘Don’t kick me in the face.’

“I was like ‘Why would you say that? You are just going to jinx us!’
“So we did what we were doing and he nearly dropped me and I was like ‘Oh s*** what has gone on?’ And I looked at him and he was holding his face and I said ‘Stop messing about’ and I laughed, and then he removed his hand from his face and there was blood everywhere," the 38-year-old explained.
Vardy, who is wife to footballer Jamie Vardy, said she "nearly passed out" due to an aversion to the sight of blood.
“I was petrified [to go back on the ice], the very next day after I injured him we had our show and tell in front of all the coaches and that was the first time we ran our routine in front of people and I felt so sick.
“I didn’t even think I would be able to do it, but with that you just have to get straight back out there, straight back on it because if you don’t, fear will just overcome everything that you’ve achieved so far and it will make everything that you’ve done before worthless,” she said.
There have been further injuries elsewhere in the Dancing on Ice training as professional skater Yebin Mok will be sitting out of the weekend's launch after her leg was sliced open by an ice skate in practice.
She is partnered with Olympic skier Graham Bell who will now appear from week two with new partner Karina Manta.
Mok will be "out of the show for quite a few weeks" while she recovers.
