Rebecca Romijn’s Husband Finally Broke Their Silence on John Stamos’ Memoir & Things Are Getting Heated

While John Stamos‘ memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, went directly after after his first wife, actress Rebecca Romijn, her current husband, Jerry O’Connell, is defending her from all the hate.

During an appearance on Andy Cohen’s SirusXM radio show on Nov. 14, The Talk co-host explained what his family’s reaction was to the bombshell revelations.

“There was an interest in my household,” O’Connell said at first, per Entertainment Weekly. “But it’s so funny, after hearing his interview beginning to end on [The Howard Stern Show], any interest of reading the book went away.”

“I think [the parts about their marriage] are the only parts we were interested in our house, and we got to them and they were talked about, I don’t really need to hear about the casting process of famous sitcoms,” he said, subtly jabbing the Full House star. “That’s not something that really interests us.”

O’Connell did, however, admit that his daughters, 14-year-old twins Charlie and Dolly, also read the headlines. “My children are 14 and they see what we see now,” O’Connell said. “There’s no hiding, there’s no more keeping things from them. It’s pretty crazy when your kids come out for breakfast and go, ‘Hey mom, your ex has a book out and called you the devil. What are your thoughts?'” Talk about an uncomfortable conversation!

As a reminder, Stamos recently went as far as to say he “hated” Romijn during their marriage. “My first marriage was shattering to me. I was shattered for way too long, too,” Stamos told People while promoting his book. “I mean, a year, okay, good. But it went on [for] years and years.”

Stamos went on to explain that at the time, he viewed his wife as “the Devil,” saying that “I just hated her. I couldn’t believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life.” Romijn and Stamos, who tied the knot in 1998, officially divorced in 2005. Three years later, Romijn married O’Connell and 13 years later, in 2018, Stamos married his wife Caitlin McHugh. Looks like everything happened for a reason!
