Rebecca Hall Joins James L. Brooks’ Next Film ‘Ella McCay’ For 20th Century

EXCLUSIVE: Rebecca Hall has rounded out the ensemble cast of 20th Century’s Ella McCay, the new movie from filmmaker James L. Brooks. Hall joins a cast that includes Emma Mackey, Jamie Lee Curtis, Woody Harrelson, Ayo Edebiri, Albert Brooks, Kumail Nanjiani, Jack Lowden and Spike Fearn.

The film will follow an idealistic young politician who juggles familial issues and a challenging work life while preparing to take over the job of her mentor, the state’s longtime incumbent governor.

Brooks will also produce along with his producing partners Julie Ansell and Richard Sakai, who will produce through their Gracie Films banner. Seth Meier will executive produce.

EVP Scott Aversano will oversee for 20th. The film is currently in production.

Best known for her roles in The Town and Vicky Christina Barcelona, Hall was most recently seen in The Listener and can be seen next in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. She is repped by Julian Belfrage Associates and WME.
