EXCLUSIVE: Following the massive opening weekend of Dune: Part Two, Rebecca Ferguson is zeroing in on her next big feature. She is set to star alongside Chris Pratt in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming film Mercy, which will be released in theaters worldwide as the studio has high expectations for the movie.

Timur Bekmambetov is directing the sci-fi thriller from a script penned by Marco van Belle. The film is targeting a spring start of production.

Set in the near future when capital crime has increased, Mercy follows a detective (Pratt) who is accused of a violent crime and forced to prove his innocence.

Ferguson can currently be seen on the big screen reprising her role as Lady Jessica in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two; the sequel just landed the biggest domestic opening of the year with $82 million while also doing $182.5 million globally. She is also known for starring in The Greatest Showman and the Mission: Impossible franchise – most recently for the latter in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One — and she was seen starring and producing on the Apple TV+ series Silo which is currently filming its second season.

Ferguson is represented by CAA and Chalcot Square Management.
