Reba fans, try to contain your excitement!

On Wednesday, May 8, the The Voice host took to Instagram to announce her latest project: Happy’s Place, a new sitcom she has in the works with NBC.

The show, which is set to premiere on NBC in Fall 2024, occupying the 8/7c Friday slot, follows the story of Bobbie (Reba), who inherits her father’s restaurant after his passing, only to discover that she has a business partner: a half-sister whom she never knew existed.

As OG Reba lovers know, this isn’t the country music star’s first sitcom. In the early ‘00s, she starred in her eponymous series, Reba, for six seasons.

"It's lots of fun. I love all genres of entertainment. But the sitcoms are so much fun, cause it's a brand new script every week. And you're just having fun. It's really hard memorizing dialogue you have to do, but it ain't my first rodeo. I do love it. And it's just playtime. We have a blast with it," Reba revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

While the Happy’s Place plot sounds entertaining enough as is, it gets even better—and even a bit nostalgic! Reba will be joined on the Happy’s Place set by her former Reba co-star Melissa Peterman (Barbara Jean), who will be starring as Reba’s on-screen bestie.

“The first time I had no idea how life-changing and special the job was going to be,” Melissa captioned an announcement post on Instagram. “Getting another chance to work with Reba feels even sweeter because I know how much fun we're going to have and I am going to savor every moment!!! See you at Happy's Place!!! I can't wait to get to work with this amazing cast and crew!”

Meanwhile, fans can’t wait to tune in and see their favorite gal pals back in action.

“I’m so ‘happy’ for you and Reba! You two are friendship goals! Had the privilege of being at the pilot taping! So cute and funny,” one fan exclaimed. “The closest we will get to a Reba reboot and I’ll take it,” another fan quipped. “Please tell me Van will be guest starring,” someone else chimed in. “Fams back together again,” someone else wrote.

While many fans can’t help but hope for other Reba guest stars, someone they can fully expect to see on screen is Reba’s real-life partner, Rex Linn, who is playing the short-order cook. "He is kind of the patriarch now that [the character's] daddy has died. Cause he has been with the tavern the longest," Reba told Entertainment Tonight.

The news of Happy’s Place comes just days after sharing news of her latest single, “I Can’t.” You can listen to and save the song on your favorite streaming service, now.
