Reba McEntire is heading back to the ACM Awards.

If you were wondering how someone follows up a turn singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, McEntire is showing the world how it's done. It was just announced that the country icon will host the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards, coming up on Thursday, May 16 at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT live from Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

This of course isn’t McEntire’s first rodeo — and not just because she comes from a rodeo family. This will be the 17th time, The Voice mentor has hosted the ACM Awards, which is the most of any artist.

“I am tickled to pieces to get to host the ACM Awards for the 17th time! " McEntire said in a statement. "What an honor to have been part of the past, present and now the future of the Academy of Country Music with Amazon Prime Video. I can’t wait to get to Texas and see everybody May 16th!"

It only makes sense that the actor, author, podcaster, and artist would be a favorite go-to award show host, too. McEntire isn't one to take things easy, though. This year to mark her 17th turn as the emcee of country music's big night, McEntire will not only handle hosting duties, but she will also take over the stage for a special performance featuring brand-new music. That’s right: new music!

In addition to hosting the show a record number of times, McEntire is a pro at winning at the ACMs too.  Over the course of her incredibly impressive career, the singer has collected 16 ACM Award wins, and she won the prestigious ACM Entertainer of the Year in 1994. She also holds the most nominations for Female Artist of the Year.

While McEntire was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame by Dolly Parton back in 2011, seems she is determined to continue cementing her place in country music history.
