Reba McEntire is back this year as the host of the ACMs in North Texas

A host has finally been set for the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards, which kicks off in North Texas next month.

Country music icon Reba McEntire will host the awards show on May 16 from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. The annual awards show celebrates the biggest country music artists and songs of the last year.

Frisco is gearing up to host the ceremony for a second year in a row, sans last year’s hosts — Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks.

When McEntire takes the stage next month it will be her 17th time hosting the ceremony, the most by any artist.

“I am tickled to pieces to get to host the ACM Awards for the 17th time!” McEntire said in a press release. “What an honor to have been part of the past, present and now the future of the Academy of Country Music with Amazon Prime Video. I can’t wait to get to Texas and see everybody May 16th!”

Nominations for the 59th ACM Awards were announced earlier this month.

Luke Combs leads the pack with eight nominations, followed by six nominations for both Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen. Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena is nominated for “Arena of the Year”.

Fans can still purchase tickets for the ceremony through SeatGeek. Prices vary for tickets and generally start out at around $300 a piece.

For those who can’t make the Frisco-set ceremony, it will be available to stream on Prime Video.

“We are thrilled for the homecoming of Reba to the ACM Awards stage for the 17th time! There is simply no one better to continue to elevate this show in our new global streaming era with Amazon Prime Video,” ACM CEO Damon Whiteside said in a press release.
