‘He Really Is Lost And Needs Help,’ Says Woman About Her 17-Year-Old Grandson

Catherine and her husband, Jim, claim that Catherine’s grandson, 17-year-old Dakota, had a rough childhood surrounded by drugs and abuse. Then, when Dakota was 10, he moved in with Catherine and Jim, following his father, Jay’s, suicide. The couple says that when Dakota was 12, he began experimenting with drugs, damaging property, and then dropped out of school in the ninth grade. “He really is lost and needs help,” says Catherine. “I worry about him getting in trouble with the law.” Catherine and Jim say that Dakota’s behavior is so out of control that he has overdosed multiple times and that nothing scares him - except going to jail.
