For real life: The 28-minute ‘Bluey’ special has an air date—watch the trailer

Attention Bluey fans young and old: It’s finally happening—for real life. The official Bluey blog just made an excellent announcement: Grab your spring rolls and buckle up, because on April 14, 2024 there will be a 28-minute Bluey episode.

That’s like 4 Chutney Chimp episodes!

Try not to “slip on your beans,” because all we know is that the episode is centered around the Heeler family getting ready for “the wedding of the year” between babysitter Frisky and their uncle Radley. We can hardly wait—this definitely made our bucket list of Bluey episodes we love to see—and the showrunners answered our prayers.

This new long episode title is “The Sign,” and will be written by creator and writer Joe Brumm, and directed by Richard Jeffery—and of course, produced by Ludo studio. Dave McCormack and Melanie Zanetti will reprise their roles as Bandit and Chili, per the website announcement.

In the meantime, another new episode (regular length) was released on April 7, called ‘Ghostbasket’. According to the site, Dad is pretending to be an estate agent selling the Grannies’ house to Mum. But Janet and Rita don’t want to move out! More new episodes were released earlier this year—and if you haven’t sobbed through “Cricket” yet, we know what your plans are for later today.

You can watch the trailer of “The Sign” below, where you’ll see the greatest cartoon dog family of all time in full celebration mode. There’s sure to be flower crowns for the girls and their cousins Muffin and Socks, wedding toasts, dance parties (dance mode activated!), and of course, tail-wagging.

“This is the happiest day ever of my life!!!” Bingo exclaims in the video.

“We’re so excited to share that a 28-minute special episode is coming in 2024. There’ll be lots of laughs, exciting guest voices, and definitely a few tears. We’re so incredibly proud of the awesome team behind the series and we can’t wait for Australia and the world to watch this very special Bluey episode with their family and friends,” Ludo Studio said in a statement on the website.
