Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky reportedly separated after 27 years of marriage.

People magazine reported the separation Monday. According to the outlet, a source close to the pair said the two "have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof."

"They remain amicable as they figure out what's next for them and their family," the source added.

Richards, 54, and Umansky, 53, met in 1994 and married two years later.

On Tuesday, the couple denied plans for divorce amid a "challenging" year in their marriage.

"In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue," Richards, 54, and Umansky, 53, wrote in joint statements on Instagram Tuesday.

The couple acknowledged marital difficulties, writing that they "have had a rough year" and it has been "the most challenging one of our marriage."

"But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone's part," Richards and Umansky continued.

The reality TV stars asked to "work through our issues privately," adding, "While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative."

"Thank you for the love and support. Kyle & Mauricio," the couple concluded.

In January 2022, Umansky, a real estate broker, celebrated their 26th anniversary with an Instagram post calling Richards "the best wife in the world."

He went on, "(I) love you so much and I thank you for always being there for me. For your support throughout all our life and for the beautiful life and 4 kids we have built together."

USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Richards and Umansky for comment.

In June, the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star shared family snapshots wishing Umansky a happy Father's Day on Instagram.

Richards wrote she was "so grateful that our girls have such an incredible dad leading them with love and instilling in them to be adventurous and live life to the fullest. Always there for them and not knowing how to say 'no.' They would definitely agree you get the best Dad award."

Umansky commented, "Thank you," adding three red heart emojis. Umansky's Instagram bio also still reads "married to @kylerichards18 father to 4 amazing daughters."

The couple shares three daughters: Alexia Simone, 27; Sophia Kylie, 23; and Portia, 15. Richards' oldest daughter, Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie, 34, was born when the reality TV star was married to Guraish Aldjufrie from 1988 to 1992.

The two have yet to address their split directly.

Richards shared a selfie with Umansky to her Instagram Story on Monday, in which they are celebrating television personality Faye Resnick's birthday. Umansky reshared the photo to his Instagram Story as well.

The couple's split comes after Umansky shut down rumors that their marriage was rocky after Richards was photographed without her wedding ring. "We're not getting divorced," Umansky said in an April episode of Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave and Tamra Judge's podcast "Two T's in a Pod."

"I mean, it's so dumb. That one stupid story that came out there, and then the girls all, you know, decided to talk about it on the 'Housewives,' and so now it's a storyline."

Earlier in March, while attending the 31st Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party, Richards also addressed rumors about her marriage.

"The analyzing of everything is so… we were just talking about that in the car," she said. "I’m seen out at the gym without a ring on, or the rumors about weight loss. I just… I can’t keep up anymore… I don’t even care anymore… All I know is my anxiety is better than it’s ever been and I just… I just can’t stress about it anymore."
