“Real Housewives of Miami ”star Alexia Nepola 'shocked and heartbroken' as husband Todd files for divorce

"I'm praying for better times ahead," the reality TV personality wrote on social media.

Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Nepola and husband Todd Nepola are going their separate ways — and the split sounds less than amicable.

On Monday, amid reports that the real estate broker, 51, had filed for divorce from the reality TV personality, 56, after two years of marriage, Alexia wrote on social media that she'd been blindsided by the news.

"I am shocked and heartbroken that Todd has chosen to dissolve our marriage," she said in a statement posted to her Instagram Stories. "I will take comfort in the fact that my friends and family will be by my side supporting me during this difficult time. I'm praying for better times ahead."

Todd filed for divorce Thursday in Miami-Dade County, according to court records. Representatives for Alexia didn't immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for comment Monday.

Alexia has been a cast member on RHOM since its first season, in 2011. During season 6, which concluded last month, the couple denied rumors of financial issues that had prompted other RHOM to speculate that they might break up.

The two had publicly expressed their affection for one another as recently as Valentine's Day, when Alexia posted, "No matter what life throws my way, there's one thing I can be sure of… We belong together. You will always be my Valentine. I love you forever."

Todd responded with a comment: "Love you always."

The Nepolas got engaged in December 2019, but their wedding plans were postponed twice — first because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and again following the death of Alexia's mother in August 2021. They eventually eloped in December 2021.
