The Real Hosts 'Grateful' for 8-Season Run as Daytime Talk Show Comes to an End — Watch Final Episode Highlights

Daytime just got a bit less Real.
Friday marked the very last episode of syndicated talk show The Real, which comes to an end after eight seasons and 1,360 episodes.

“We have made our mark,” original panelist Adrienne Bailon declared during Friday’s farewell. “I was talking to my mom earlier this morning — she knows that this is the farewell show — and she was telling me, like, ‘You guys really did break the mold in daytime television.’ And it’s so crazy when you think of it that way — that there was never a show that looks like us, and I am so grateful. I hope that we are not the last.”
Added fellow mainstay Loni Love: “The whole purpose of the show was that we put on people that normally would not get on daytime talk [shows]. We’ve had all of the Tyler Perry movie people, we’ve had the older people, we’ve had Laurence Fishburne, and we were able to talk about things that some people just ignore. When you look back at eight seasons, over 1,300 episodes, [that] is phenomenal. And it’s historic. And so this is actually a celebration.
“We hope that our example, what we have done, can continue,” Love said, speaking to The Real‘s diverse panel of hosts, which also include Jeannie Mai and Garcelle Beauvais. “Don’t let this end. Get another show like this together with fabulous women, because we have a whole future of things that we still have to fight for, with injustice and inequality. We can’t be afraid to talk about this. We have had deep discussions…. We’ve been able to cover AAPI, we’ve been able to cover the Haitians, we’ve been able to cover the Latinas, the Black people, the women. We are so proud, and we will not be sad today.”
When The Real premiered in 2013, its panel consisted of Bailon, Love, Mai, Tamar Braxton and Tamera Mowry. Since then, Braxton and Mowry parted ways with the show (after Seasons 2 and 6, respectively), as did onetime co-host Amanda Seales (after a brief, six-month stint during Season 6).
The Real is one of several daytime series not returning this fall. Also ending are The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Good Dish, Judge Jerry, Maury, The Nick Cannon Show and The Wendy Williams Show.
