Reggae will rule this weekend at Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona Beach, where the 4th Annual Reggae At the Rock music fest will showcase more than two dozen acts on two outdoor stages as well as other spots inside the beachfront hotel.

On Saturday, the headliner will be two-decade reggae veteran Josh Heinrichs, former lead singer of the internationally known reggae band Jah Roots. Since parting with that band in 2008, he has continued to release new music as a solo act. At Hard Rock, he’ll be performing with his own band.

On Sunday, genre-bending singer-songwriter Mike Pinto will perform with his band, offering material that melds vintage rock, reggae, ska and surf sounds.

Brothers Within will be among more than two dozen acts on the bill for the 4th Annual Reggae At the Rock event this weekend at Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona Beach.

Celebrate Jewish heritage in Ormond Beach

An array of music, food vendors, kids’ activities, crafts and educational speakers will be featured at the Jewish Heritage Festival on Sunday at The Casements in Ormond Beach.

Presented by a nonprofit corporation funded by sponsorships and tax-deductible donations, the event — held every two years — is hailed by event organizers as especially important this year in the wake of the bloody war in Gaza and the continued presence of antisemitism in Volusia County and throughout Central Florida.

Highlights include kosher, deli-style and Mediterranean food, booths offering information on area Jewish organizations, speakers and exhibits including a Holocaust Memorial and Jewish Hall of Fame. For kids, activities include a Matza-making interactive demonstration, inflatables, face painting, a balloon artist, a petting zoo and the event’s popular camel rides.

Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Free admission. Visit jewishheritagefestival.com for details.
