Ready to wear green? Here are 16 St. Patrick's Day events around Springfield this weekend

If you haven't thought about it already, consider pulling out your favorite piece of green attire or accessory if you want to avoid a pinch this weekend.

St. Patrick's Day is Sunday, but plenty of Springfield businesses are getting a head start with deals and celebrations a few days early.

The News-Leader compiled a list of 16 St. Patrick's Day-themed activities happening around Springfield this weekend. This list is not comprehensive. If you are curious if a business is offering St. Patrick's Day specials or hosting a celebration, call ahead.

St. Patrick's Day Weekend at Bawi Korean BBQ

Bawi Korean BBQ is hosting a weekend of St. Patrick's specials, starting Thursday and ending Sunday. Patrons are encouraged to wear a piece of green clothing to receive a free green treat. Bawi Korean BBQ is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-9 p.m. Thursday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Saint Patrick's Day at Metropolitan Grill

Metropolitan Grill is offering corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips, and green beer on Friday, starting at 4 p.m. Live music will be provided by both local bagpipe performers and a DJ throughout the night.

Historic Commercial Street's St. Patrick's Day Weekend Celebration

Historic Commercial Street is hosting a weekend full of St. Patrick's Day festivities, kicking off on Friday and concluding Sunday. Throughout the entire weekend, participating businesses will be offering patrons punch cards. Patrons may accumulate five punches by the end of the weekend for the chance to win a prize. Participating stores will be indicated with a shamrock in their windows. After collecting five punches, patrons should drop off their cards at one of the following businesses: Cymphony's, Eurasia Coffee Co., Springfield Mercantile Co., Big Momma's Coffee & Espresso Bar, White River Brewing Company and Lindberg's Tavern. Winners will be drawn on Wednesday, March 20.

Some of the punch card prizes include large pizza certificates to Pizza House, $20 gift cards to White River Brewing Company, $50 gift cards to Springfield Mercantile Co., $25 gift cards to Van Gogh's Eeterie, $25 gift cards to La Habana Vieja and a free stay at Culture Boutique Hotel, which is located above Eurasia Coffee Co. Fleet Feet Shamrock Shuffle

Fleet Feet Springfield and Heartland Racing Co. are hosting their second annual St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Shuffle, featuring a 5K, 15K and Beer Mile. The race starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday at Park Central Square.

During the Beer Mile, runners will drink one full beer before running one-fourth of a mile — four beers in total. Registration is available online. Registration is $45 for the 5K, $65 for the 15K and $35 for the Beer Mile. All participants will receive a race day shirt and two free beers.

Renegade Harley-Davidson's St. Patrick's Day Party

Renegade Harley-Davidson's HOG Chapter is serving corned beef and cabbage during its St. Patrick's Day Party on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The party will continue until 3 p.m. with live music from the Shortleaf Band, a scavenger hunt, and sales on boots and barware.

St. Patrick's Day Celebration at Pappy's Place BBQ

Pappy's Place BBQ is hosting a day full of St. Patrick's celebrations on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The restaurant is offering good and drink specials. Stag Owens and The Staggeroos will provide live music from 4-6 p.m.

4 By 4 Brewing Company's St. Patrick's Day Shenanigans

4 By 4 Brewing Company is hosting a St. Patrick's Day party at its Fremont Hills location in Nixa on Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. Live music will be provided by The Isaac Kenneth Band from 6-9 p.m.

The brewery is launching four new beers: Pillow Top (Irish Red Cream Ale), Dropkick (Red IPA), Lucky Day (Cream Ale) and Slow Jam (American Dry Stout). The Fremont Hills Country Club will be selling pub chips with Stout Dubliner cheese dip and beef stew over mashed potatoes. In addition to beer, Caramel Green Apple (caramel whiskey), Irish Coffee (Irish Whiskey) and Orange Dreamsicle (non-alcoholic) slushies will be available for purchase. Patrons are encouraged to bring picnic blankets, lawn chairs and small tents for out on the lawn.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

The 41st annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, held by the Downtown Springfield Association, starts on Commercial Street at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The parade will begin on Commercial Street, move down Boonville Avenue, wrap around Park Central Square and finish at the intersection of South Avenue and Walnut Street.

St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl

Ten downtown bars are participating in this year's St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl, which follows the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday. These bars include Finnegan's Wake, The Vault, Big Whiskey's, Dublin's Pass, Best of Luck Beer Hall, Civil Kitchen, Hour House, Bigg Time Arcade, Shot Shack and Tropical Liqueurs. Wristbands are $10 and available at Stick It In Your Year and Discount Smokes and Beer.

14 Mill Market's St. Patty's Day Celebration

14 Mill Market in Nixa is hosting St. Patty's festivities on Saturday from 2-9 p.m. Wisner Bar will offer green beer, Guinness and Irish Coffee specials. And for the rest of the family, face painting, yard games and live music will be available. Leprechauns on silts will also be milling around the area for photo opportunities.

St. Patrick's Day at Lindberg's Tavern

In conjunction with the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, Lindberg's Tavern is serving corned beef and cabbage with root vegetable on Saturday. The Detectives will provide live music starting at 8:30 p.m.

St. Patrick's Day-Themed Mixology Class

417 Cocktails, located downtown, is hosting a St. Patrick's Day-Themed Mixology Class on Saturday at 7 p.m. One ticket to the class include two themed cocktails, advice on how to stock a bar cart, a mini cocktail kit to take home and a hands-on lesson, with shakers, stirrers, muddlers, glasses, syrups, garnishes, fruits and spirits provided. Participants will learn how to make an Irish Maid (cucumber, Irish Whiskey, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, citrus and simple syrup) and Spiked Basil Lemonade. Tickets are $44 each and available on the 417 Cocktails website.

Club Rodeo's St. Patrick's Day Party

Club Rodeo is hosting a St. Patrick's Day Parade with themed decorations and drinks. The party starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Saint Patrick's Day at SS Dockside Grill and Pub in Nixa

SS Dockside Grill and Pub in Nixa is featuring food and alcohol specials on Sunday. The pub is offering $10 lunch specials between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and $3 beers, $5 margaritas and $5 wine all day.

Ozark Bagpipers at Mother's Brewing Company

The Ozark Bagpipers are set to perform at Mother's Brewing Company from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday.

417 Taphouse's St. Patrick's Day Party

417 Taphouse's St. Patrick's Day Party starts at 8 p.m. on Sunday. The party will feature $4 green beer and Irish Whiskey. Patrons are encouraged to wear green.
