Have you ever wanted to book an appointment with a psychic medium but wasn’t totally sure about what you could experience?

I recently had a session with Travis Holp, an established and well-respected medium, spiritual guide and motivational speaker who grabs a lot of attention because of his passion and genuine desire to help change lives. I went into the experience with an open mind and hopefulness and left feeling satisfied and grateful for the experience.

Travis Holp Didn't Always Realize He Had A Special Gift

Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Holp discovered he could connect to Spirit at a young age. But what he didn’t realize was that it was a special gift that not everyone else had.

“I’ve known about this connection since I was a kid but the thing is, when I was growing up, I didn’t realize that this was something that not everyone can do. My parents just chalked it up to me being super imaginative and having imaginary friends. It wasn’t until a little later in life when I found my way into reading tarot and connecting with spirit, I realized that not everybody does this,” he told The Blast exclusively.

“I equated my experience to growing up gay, I just thought everybody was, so I didn’t realize this wasn’t something everyone did until later in life.”

Growing up in a conservative home, Holp suppressed his gift for a long time but when he went on a self-healing journey in 2020, beautiful things began opening up and he started to lean into them. He began meditating, taking classes, and working with a mentor. And while he suppressed his gift for a long time, he’s actually thankful it all unfolded the way it did.

Travis Holp Said It's Okay To Be Skeptical

Holp realizes that there are people in the world who don't believe his gift is real or maybe question it. Holp isn't bothered by that, and said his message to skeptical people is, “It’s okay."

“I grew up in a community where it was predominantly Christian and people wanted you to believe in certain things. I’m all for people believing in what they want to believe in or what feels right for them. I think if people are skeptical, or completely cynical or just don’t believe, that’s okay," he said.

"I think that’s a beautiful thing and I think the world needs that contrast as well.”

Sharing His Messages About Meditating, Manifesting, And Everything Spiritual In Between

Holp credits a lot of his spiritual growth to learning how to quiet his mind and meditate. Learning to be present and meditate helped him to connect to his own energy, and now he wants to help others do the same.

On Holp's Instagram page, he often shares his wisdom for like-minded people or anyone who is just finding their way to spirituality.

In one recent video shared on Instagram, Holp explains a little about manifesting and alignment.

"As a medium, I deal a lot with energy and helping folks who want to manifest things in their life, in addition to connecting to their loved ones and Spirit," he said in his video. "And one of the biggest misconceptions that I hear from folks is that you have to be feeling good all the time or in alignment in order to receive your manifestations. The thing is, that's a big misunderstanding of what alignment truly is."

Many of his followers dropped into the comments to share their thoughts.

"Such good advice! I am so happy you are out there doing your thing!!! I always get a warm fuzzy feeling when you come across my feed!" one person wrote. Another added, "You always explain everything so clearly thank you."

How To Prepare For A Session With Travis Holp

Before my session with Holp, I was sent some helpful tips for preparing for the experience. I was asked to be in a "distraction-free environment with stable WiFi," and told that I could bring questions and take notes during the session if I wanted to.

"Setting clear intentions before the reading is a great way for the reading to be as helpful as possible," was one other way I could prepare.

I was also told that Holp doesn't want to know who I would like him to connect with, and that he doesn't have control over who shows up.

“Once we get started, I’ll start receiving impressions from spirit through seeing, hearing, and feeling. During our time together, you’re welcome to ask as many questions as you want. My only intention is to leave you better than I found you. If I can do that, we’re in great shape," he said.

"Spirit communicates with me in a couple of different ways, through pictures, sounds, words, names, how people pass, all of those fun things.”

I Had A Sense Of Closure After My Session With Travis Holp

I went into my session with an open mind and tons of positivity. I have three dead relatives that I hoped would come through, but I didn't tell Holp that.

At some point during the session, each of the three, my grandmother, grandfather, and father, all had something to say.

My father left this earth on his terms by his own hands. It's left a hole in my soul since he died when I was 18. There's literally no closure when a loved one dies by suicide, and I've always felt a void because of that.

I did not tell Holp about my father or how he died. When he said a "fatherly figure" was there who died from something happening to his heart suddenly, I knew it was my father. (He shot himself in the chest.) Holp told me that my father wanted to apologize, and asked me if that made sense, which of course it did.

There were other things that were said about my father that also made sense and all of it actually gave me a feeling of closure and a sense of peace.

My grandfather also came through. The way Holp described him made it very clear to me that it was him. I was very close to my grandfather growing up and I always tell my three boys that he would have loved them so much. He mentioned my boys and how amazing they are, and that choked me up just a bit.

Another thing that Holp said that blew me away was he asked me if I'm getting ready to move. (I am!) He asked if I'm moving in June (I am!) and told me this move is just what me and my son need, which is something I've been not only saying but also feeling for some time.

Do I recommend a session with a medium? If you believe, you feel you have some unanswered questions, and can keep an open mind, I say yes, do it! Holp was so easy to talk to and felt like an old friend I've known forever. And he did leave me better than he found me, so I would say it was a success!
