The celebrated Mexican pop group RBD said they would have to put all projects “on hold,” including a possible continuation of their successful 2023 reunion tour, amid an ongoing financial dispute with their former manager.

On Wednesday, May 22, RBD and their lawyers released a statement disputing recent claims by T6H Entertainment and its CEO, Guillermo Rosas, that there was no financial mismanagement related to last year’s “Soy Rebelde” tour. RBD’s lawyers countered that a “forensic accounting investigation… revealed significant irregularities,” alleging that nearly $1 million remained unaccounted for.

According to RBD’s lawyers, T6H and Citrin Cooperman — a professional services firm that acted as a business manager for the tour, and later conducted the financial audit — were the “only entities responsible for the tour payments.” Neither RBD as a whole, nor any of the individual members “had access to manage the money or make payments.”

“Our goal has always been to resolve these discrepancies professionally,” the band’s statement continued. “We remain committed to cooperating with all parties involved to achieve a fair and transparent resolution. Our integrity and the trust of our fans are paramount, and we will not rest until these matters are fully resolved.”

T6H did not immediately return Rolling Stone’s request for comment.

RBD was borne out of the popular Mexican telenovela Rebelde, which followed a group of teens who formed a band at a fictional private school. Fifteen years after the group went on hiatus, they announced their return with a headlining tour that ran throughout the fall and winter of 2023.

While the tour was a major success, after it ended, RBD and Rosas/T6H parted ways. Then, earlier this month, Andrés Tovar, the husband of RBD’s Maite Perroni, revealed on a Mexican television program there was an ongoing audit into the alleged financial mismanagement.

Not long after, T6H responded with a statement denying the claims stating (via People en Español), “We hereby specifically clarify that in no way and at no time did neither T6H Entertainment, nor Guillermo Rosas, nor any employee of the company divert or make illicit use of any type of money from Soy Rebelde Tour. He also did not participate in any type of embezzlement of any kind, as some media outlets have suggested.”
