Ray Lewis Suffers Toe Injury, Drops Out Of 'Dancing With The Stars'

Ex-NFL star Ray Lewis is dropping out of the competition on “Dancing With The Stars”.

Sources tell The Blast, Lewis suffered a toe injury during rehearsals and will no longer be able to dance. He sustained broken ligaments in his toes and the pain is too much. Sources say Lewis "didn’t want to go out this way.”

We’re told Lewis and his dancing partner, Cheryl Burke, will make the announcement on tonight’s show.

Lewis avoided being eliminated on the first week of “DWTS”. Singer Mary Wilson was sent home first on the dancing show.

The show has already had some drama with Christie Brinkley having to drop out of the competition before it started. The model broke her arm during rehearsal. In a statement, ABC said, "Brinkley suffered injuries which required surgery to her wrist and arm."

Over the weekend, Lewis posted on social media, “Don't get me wrong- I understand the grind- the effort and commitment it takes is unparalleled. But when you finally level up what else will be left? Did you cut off your friends and family or sacrifice your mental health?"

"Make time for what matters. Take care of yourself. Mind, Body, and Spirit. #NoExcuses."

The full cast for this season included The Supremes’ Mary Wilson, "The Bachelorette‘s" Hannah Brown, supermodel Christie Brinkley’s daughter, country star Lauren Alaina, James Van Der Beek, "The Office" star Kate Flannery, pop star Ally Brooke, Karamo Brown, Kel Mitchell and President Donald Trump’s former press secretary Sean Spicer.

The dancing pros returning include: Alan Bersten, Brandon Armstrong, Cheryl Burke, Emma Slater, Gleb Savchenko, Jenna Johnson, Keo Motsepe, Lindsay Arnold, Peta Murgatroyd, Sasha Farber, Val Chmerkovskiy, Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagach.
